Artist Talk | Singapore's Intertwined Roots

  • Intersections 34 Kandahar Street Singapore, 198892 Singapore (map)

As part of 'Singapore's Intertwined Roots' exhibition events, Nicola Anthony delivers an artist talk for the Italian Women's Group (IWG) Activities and Events for Charity Singapore.

About exhibition Singapore's Intertwined Roots:

Since the 15th century, Singapore has been at the crossroads of commercial routes. From China and central Asia to Europe, from Yemen and Oman to Singapore, merchants have travelled with the monsoon winds and stopped over in Singapore exchanging silk, spices, fragrances and more. Rich cultural interactions occurred in the wake of these commercial exchanges.

This group show proposes to discover Singapore’s cultural roots through artworks by Armenian, Malay, Chinese and Indian artists: Sharis Garabedian, Julayla Jalil, June Lee Yu Juan, Pang, Marc Nair, Kavita Issar Batra, Nicola Anthony.
