New group exhibition set to open shortly in Luan Gallery
A new exhibition will open at Luan Gallery this weekend.
Breaking Borders is a group exhibition featuring artists Nicola Anthony, Trudi van der Elsen, Bernadette Hopkins, Benedict Hutchinson, Myra Jago, Vukašin Nedeljkovic, and Beata Piekarska Daly.
Breaking Borders aims to explore the intersection of multiple narratives and discourses in the arts.
The exhibition brings together the work of the seven artists across a range of disciplines including painting, video, photography, sculpture, and performance, engaging in a mix of conversations with the exhibiting artists through artists’ talks and performance contributions.
The group exhibition intends to be an organic project mixing and matching artists from all disciplines to contribute to a national and global conversation about overcoming all sorts of barriers.
This future-facing project will be accompanied by a series of onsite and online events, and discussions focused on the perception of a globalised and dislocated life.
The exhibition will open on Saturday, July 2, and continue until Sunday, September 25. A panel discussion between the exhibiting artists and Curator, Valeria Ceregini will take place at 2pm on Saturday, July 2, and will be chaired by Westmeath Arts Officer, Miriam Mulrennan. This will be followed by an opening reception at 4.30pm and official opening address by Miriam Mulrennan at circa 5pm. All are welcome to attend.
Luan Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 5pm and 12pm to 5pm on Sundays. More information on the exhibition and upcoming events can be found at www.luangallery.ie
